Valentina MANEA | software engineer
Bio: Valentina has been a software engineer at Bloomberg LP since 2016. She has worked on distributed systems that provide the foundation for applications running on Bloomberg Professional Service. She is currently working on development tools for all the engineers at Bloomberg. Additionally, Valentina has a background in operating systems, having previously contributed to the Linux Kernel.
Alexandra Teodora PADURARU | software engineer
Bio: Growing up in Romania, Alexandra has always been a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual. She graduated as Valedictorian from high-school and decided to follow her passion for technology by pursuing a Computer Science degree at the University of Birmingham. She graduated with a First Class Honours Degree and ranked among the top 5 graduates in the Class of 2019. After graduation, Alexandra was eager to put into practice the skills she learned throughout her studies and was looking for new ways of challenging herself. She therefore joined Bloomberg in September 2019 and since then she has been working as a Software Engineer in the Bloomberg Buyside Enterprise Solution. Upon joining the team, she took responsibility of one of the core features of the product that Portfolio Managers rely upon daily in their decision making process. In addition, she volunteers through Bloomberg Philanthropies and gets involved in Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
Olga MATOULA | software engineer
Bio: Olga Matoula joined Bloomberg in 2017 as a full-stack software engineer creating a specialised notepad application for the Bloomberg Professional Terminal. Before that, she was a premier !eld engineer and a technical solutions professional at Microsoft. From 2014- 2016, she co-founded and ran Code It Like a Girl, an award-winning social enterprise where she taught women and children in Greece how to code. Olga is a Diversity and Inclusion advocate and has participated in panel discussions about inclusivity in tech. Nowadays, she gets involved in tech community events in London and explores a dubious talent in swing dancing.
Corina SARARU | head of test engineering software development
Bio: Former volunteer in The Romanian Maltese Relief Service and participant at one of the GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) camps organized by Peace Corps in Romania, Corina Sararu graduated, within the Faculty of Computer Science at University of Pitesti, the bachelor, master and PhD programs.
Since 2007, she got involved in teaching and research in the machine learning !eld, for 5 years. For another 6 years, she was a software developer in automotive industry. Now she is an enthusiastic team leader and is responsible for a team that makes software for testing car parts. Her job motivates her because it is the kind of work that keeps people safe. She is passionate about electric cars and autonomous devices. This is one of the reasons for which she studies machine learning models in her spare time and is always interested to talk about them.

Bio: Magda have extensive experience continuously improving processes and products by meeting the efficiency and reliability criteria and exceeding them. Proven track of building, training and leading motivated and successful engineering teams and managing complex projects by using Agile development methodologies. Passionate about technology, she is one of the promoters of digital communities in different towns of Romania, supporting other technical professionals to constantly improve their knowledge. Also, since February 2019 she became an Android Google Developer Expert.

Liviu Serban is a Software Engineer @ Google Romania. His education background is computer science, with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Bucharest. He started his career as a malware researcher @ Avira, and then moved to work mainly as a Java developer with Cloud Technologies and using machine learning. In 2018, he joined Fitbit, as a software developer where he has worked on several areas from developing microservices to developer productivity. Since then Fitbit was acquired by Google. Liviu is passionate about computer science and machine learning and allocates large amount of personal time to study and research
Calin Avasilcai is a Software Engineer passionate about designing distributed systems. Former Java Developer and Technical Team Lead with 14 years’ experience in backend and full-stack web development, he joined Crowdstrike in 2021 in order to have the opportunity to design large scale systems using Go. In his free time he enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and reading.
